CARPET BOWLS

Winter 2009/2010
2009 was our first year in the Stockton & District carpet bowls league. After struggling in the league, we made the final of the league cup only to be beaten by one shot on the last wood of the match. A commendable start to a new discipline!
We start again in October and need volunteers. Please speak to Colin Farnaby or Marge Forsyth if you are interested.

BILL WALTON

In the SDNY competitions, Steve Slaughter, Tommy Carroll and Roger Godley won the rinks, Brian Hannaford and Stuart Forrest were runners-up in the pairs.

Top Ten
Saturday 21 August saw more success for the club when we won the Top Ten trophy.

In the semi-final we had  a comfortable win over Skelton with all rinks winning. In the Final we played Brotton and this was a much harder game, we won the singles and pairs but lost the triples & fours.....so it was down to 'total shots'.....we won by two shots...phew!

Success to report in the Middlesbrough League which we retained.

Walker Cup
